RecoPick is a place-recommendation web app that reduces discovery from a long list to a few choices and three candidates. Users can make the final choice or delegate it to the service.
The project starts from a simple problem: finding a place is often difficult not because information is scarce, but because too many options make the decision hard to finish. RecoPick asks for location, intent, party size, travel mode, and time one step at a time, then keeps only three viable candidates. On the result screen, users can choose directly, request a new set, or let the service make the final pick within the validated options. Recommendation APIs, place data, weather and travel-time adjustments, and image fallbacks are connected in a working web product.

Instead of another endless list, location, intent, party size, travel mode, and time narrow the field to three choices.

The React Native app connects recommendation APIs, a PostGIS place catalog, weather and travel-time adjustments, and licensed media fallbacks.

Direct pick, refresh, server-validated roulette, and haptic feedback were verified in an iPhone simulator flow. Its predecessor Barogo won the 2026 Nowon University Startup Camp Grand Prize.
